Dark Aoud opens with cardamom, pepper, and Brazilian rosewood, lending a dry, aromatic, and distinctly spicy woody character. Oud, sandalwood, and vetiver then emerge, softening, deepening, and grounding the composition without becoming heavy or animalic.
In the drydown, vanilla, tonka bean, and ambergris add a subtle sweetness and warmth that rounds off the dry wood notes. The result is very close to Tom Ford Oud Wood, retaining its elegant oud and sandalwood character, but can feel somewhat sharper and more synthetic in the opening.
