Opus Magnum opens powerfully with bergamot, basil, cardamom, and frankincense. The combination is dry, aromatic, and distinctly spicy, with a smoky resinous note that quickly sets it apart from sweeter tobacco perfumes. Lavender and fenugreek enhance the herbaceous side, while tobacco gradually takes up more space.
In the drydown, the fragrance becomes darker and rounder with oud, amber, Peruvian balsam, and tonka bean. The result is a dense, spicy, and smoky tobacco fragrance with resinous warmth and a slightly sweet base – a bold interpretation of the Royal Tobacco DNA rather than an easy-to-wear designer scent.

For those who like dark and uncompromising scents with incense, spices, tobacco, oud, and thick resinous notes. Opus Magnum is clearly inspired by Amouage Opus XIV – Royal Tobacco and is particularly suitable if you appreciate complex niche fragrances with a lot of character.
This is not a safe blind buy. Fenugreek, basil, and spices can give the opening a salty, herbaceous, or almost licorice/broth-like feel, while the tobacco and smoke make the scent dark and quite challenging.
